NSD731x DC Brushed Motor Drive Series with Multiple New Products

    Naxin Micro has launched a new NSD731x series of DC brushless motor drive chips, which include NSD7310, NSD7312, NSD7310A, NSD7312A, NSD7312-Q1, NSD7312A-Q1 and other chips. These chips can be widely used in various application scenarios such as sweepers, household appliances, DC brushless motor modules, and new energy vehicles.

    As shown in Figure 1, the chip is equipped with a power N-MOSFET and provides comprehensive protection, including power supply undervoltage protection, output overcurrent protection, and chip over temperature protection, ensuring that the chip will not be damaged under abnormal load conditions.

    NSD731x can provide a peak current of 3.6A, 520m Ohm HS+LS conduction resistance, adopts slow decay mode, and supports PWM current modulation function. As shown in Figure 2, the PWM current modulation function can effectively reduce the peak current and the impact on the system caused by excessive transient current during motor startup or when a large capacitance appears in the load.

Optimize PCB layout area to save sampling resistor costs
    In addition, the NSD731x series also offers A-version products. It has added a power path current mirroring function internally, and the external ADC/MCU can directly obtain the load current of the power level N-MOSFET in real-time and proportionally through the current detection pins. Compared with the traditional design using external current sampling resistors, this design helps customers optimize the PCB layout area and save the cost of sampling resistors. Real time acquisition of current information of DC brushless motors can effectively detect the working status of the motor load. In case of abnormal states such as rotor blockage, different filtering times can be set to distinguish between the instantaneous pulse current caused by DC brushless motor startup and the actual pulse current caused by rotor blockage.

Specially designed for new energy vehicle charging systems
    For the application of new energy vehicles, both NSD7312 and NSD7312A Q1 vehicle specification versions have passed AEC-Q100 certification, which can meet the quality and reliability requirements of automobiles.
    According to the national standard GB/T14447.1-2015, in new energy charging systems, power supply equipment with a rated current greater than 16A must provide a locking function. Corresponding to schemes with a rated current greater than 16A, the mainstream 6.6kW in car charger scheme has been widely used in new energy vehicle passenger cars. In order to achieve faster charging, the power density of the new generation in car charger products continues to rise, and 11kW or even 22kW products have gradually emerged in the market. The electric lock function has gradually become a standard configuration for new energy vehicles.
    NSD7312/NSD7312A Q1 can meet the system requirements of electric locking devices for motor transient torque and peak current, and can be applied in on-board electronic controllers that provide locking functions, including on-board chargers (OBCs), battery management systems (BMS), or vehicle control systems (VCUs).
