Infineon extends its data recording memory product portfolio and launches the industry first 1Mbit vehicle grade serial EXCELON F-RAM memory and new 4Mbit F-RAM memory

Time:2023-09-30 Views:648
The continuous development of the automotive event data recording system (EDR) market is driving the demand for specialized data recording and storage devices that can capture critical data in real-time and reliably store it for decades. Recently, Infineon Technology Co., Ltd. (FSE code: IFX/OTCQX code: IFNNY) further expanded its EXCELON ™ The F-RAM memory product has launched two new F-RAM memories with storage densities of 1Mbit and 4Mbit, respectively. New 1Mbit EXCELON ™ F-RAM is the industry‘s first vehicle grade serial F-RAM memory.
These two new products have passed AEC-Q100 Level 1 certification, supporting a wider temperature range (-40 ° C to+125 ° C), and supplementing the vehicle grade F-RAM memory product portfolio with storage densities ranging from 4Kbit to 16Mbit. They all have fast and highly reliable read/write performance, with read/write performance up to 50 MHz and 108 MHz in SPI mode and Quad SPI (QSPI) mode, respectively. In addition, these memories have 10 trillion read and write cycles and can support data recording at 10 microsecond intervals for up to 20 years.
Ramesh Chettuvetty, Vice President of RAM Solutions at Infineon Technologies, stated: With the widespread application of electronic systems and industry regulations encouraging the use of highly reliable nonvolatile memory in airbag systems, engine control, and battery management systems, the demand for data recording in automotive systems is rapidly increasing. The number of applications that need to record data is constantly increasing, and the demand for customized storage density based on specific use cases is also increasing. Infineon is committed to helping customers flexibly meet the storage requirements of various system designs Requirements for storage architecture
The EXCELON F-RAM memory has a zero latency write function, which can continuously capture and record data until the last moment before an accident or other user-defined triggering event occurs. These two new products use serial (SPI/QSPI) interfaces and have the ultra-low power consumption characteristics of F-RAM memory, operating in a voltage range of 1.8 V to 3.6 V, and are packaged in a standard 8-pin SOIC. Semiconductor technology company Infineon‘s F-RAM memory not only has excellent durability, but also can store data for over 100 years after a power outage.
Supply situation
Excelon vehicle grade F-RAM memory devices with storage densities of 1Mbit (CY15B201QN-50SXE) and 4Mbit (CY15B204QN-40SXE) have been mass-produced.
