Chip shortage releases demand for semiconductor innovation

    The demand for high-speed data continues to grow, and we anticipate that future applications will generate greater data demand. This may involve the future virtual reality world in the metaverse, as well as some things that are still unimaginable. In order to meet the increasing bandwidth demand, developers have been exploring new spectra and designs that require innovative testing solutions.
    It has been proven that the sluggish supply chain in the past few years has brought considerable turbulence to the semiconductor market, and this situation is expected to continue until 2024. Taking the 5G sub base station cellular signal tower as an example, the amplifier on the signal tower can transmit signals to mobile phones. In order to accurately test the noise and linear characteristics of the amplifier, the various parameters of the testing and measurement system need to be one order of magnitude better than the tested device.
    It is evident from the development since the 1970s that the production of customized semiconductors is crucial for the future market to meet the demand for design, simulation, and automated testing of highly complex electronic products.
